Soft Paws Nail Caps For Dogs And Cats Review Emily Reviews
Soft Claws nail caps are a simple solution when pet scratching is a problem and a preferred alternative to declawing. Soft Claws Nail Caps are the painless, non-surgical solution for cats' destructive scratching. Developed by a veterinarian, Soft Claws are vinyl nail caps designed to fit easily over the cat's claws, without harming the cat. They are easy to apply at home and are perfect for cats of all ages. Soft Claws do not interfere with the normal extension and retraction of your cat's claws. When applied to front paws, they reduce the potential for damage due to your cat's natural clawing and sharpening behavior. Soft Claws can also be applied to hind paws on declawed cats. Soft Claws include the new Cleat Lock System with the new soft cuff design. Each nail cap has a series of cleats, which holds adhesive securely to the nail surface. The new snug fitting soft cuff combined with the CLS system helps ensure enhanced cap adhesion and retention. Includes 2 tubes of adhesive for a total of 4 applications. A healthy cat will shed its nails every 4 to 8 weeks.
Soft Paws® vinyl nail caps for cats don't "trap" a cat's nail in an extended position. The cat can still use the tendons to extend and retract the nails, much like you can still point and flex your ankle while wearing a boot. Because the nail cap is thicker than a cat's claw and usually has a color, they are seen more clearly when a cat is resting than the thin end-portion of their claw is.

My cats don't get much attention anymore, since we now have two human children, and then it is usually not the kind of attention they like. I trimmed Topaz' claws, and she was in heaven. I put the nail caps on one paw, and she was still purring. By the time I got to the other paw, she wasn't purring, she was still happy with the attention, but a little nervous because one of the little humans was out of the tub. This morning, they were still on, and tonight at bathtime, I will do Mattie's nails. I plan to use my husband's electric hair trimmers to shave our carpet to an even level again, and then I will be able to really tell if the soft paws are working for us.LargeCats that are approximately 14 pounds and up usually wear large Soft Paws®. Very large-boned and large-breed cats wear large. Maine Coons, for example, are very large cats and generally wear large nail caps.I have always had wonderful and loving cats that lived to be 19. I decided to do my best this time to avoid declawing. My calico kittens have been having their Soft Paws manicures since they were 6 months old, and they are now 13 months old. They are finally used to them and don't fight (much) when the vet tech puts them on while I hold them I've experimented with clear and colors (I like the pink and yellows best...really show up on my kitties and on my floors and rugs when they come off) I was going to rate 4 stars because the sizing is way off for my cats. Remember that the weight and age guidelines are only that...guidelines. My vet had me getting medium when my cats were only 6 months old and 5 pounds, and large when they were only 8.5 pounds and 9 months old. She said my kittens had very large claws and were probably going to be very large cats. So, while sizing didn't fit packaging instructions, the company was wonderful about no-cost size exchanges, so back to 5 stars! I only hope that I will be able to put the caps on myself eventually, as they mature. I faithfully trim nails and recap every 4 weeks. (They start coming off just after 3 weeks) The cost for both cats is one less dinner out! I have leather furniture that was covered with lots of blankets and other covers until we started the Soft Paws. Now, the girls no longer sink claws successfully into my legs, hands, face or furniture! Thank You, Soft Paws!!!
