Scoopy The Cat Litter Scoop Holder

Scoopy The Cat - Litter Scoop Holder
We've only had our cat for about nine months, and I am still trying to find the best cat litter. I know I'm fussy, and I have quite a few requirements for the litter I'll use in my home.

My Wish List

* Control Odors
* Clump Firmly
* Non-Tracking
* Not Overly Dusty

Scoop Away Comparisons

The first Scoop Away product I purchased was . It claims to work in litter boxes (more than one cat). It claims to have maximum odor control, clump tight and eliminate odors.

It does clump pretty well, and it isn't overly perfumed. It does, however, track through my home and it is not dust free when I dump the litter into my cats litter box, but it's not horrible. I find kitty footprints on my floor, which I don't get when I use Feline Pine.

The other Scoop Away product I tried is the one listed here, Scoop Away Extra Strength Clumping Cat Litter. It claims to give maximum clumping action, even stating there will be "Virtually no used litter left behind". It also claims to have maximum odor control and that it is 99.9% dust free.

I just cleaned my cats box and added fresh litter, using Scoop Away Extra Strength Clumping Cat Litter, and I take issue with their dust free claim. Really? Oh my gosh, it was horrible. My cat jumped into the box before I was done, and I was seriously concerned about her inhaling that dust, it was horrible. Much worse than the Multiple Cat formula.

It does have a very strong perfumed scent that I don't care for at all, and when my cat jumps on our bed at night I always know when she's been in her litter box because she has that perfume smell on her feet.

Since the litter consists of smaller pieces it doesn't track as much as inexpensive litter that consists of larger clumps, but I still find it on my laminate floor quite often. I also find a lot of light tan colored kitty tracks on my floors, and I'm not sure if that is the result of the dusty residue in the litter or not.

This litter doesn't clump as well as it claims to, it really isn't much different from any other clumping litter. There are always small portions that break apart when I scoop and they usually fall through the holes in my litter scoop.

When these litters are on sale they are still a little more expensive than the value priced litter that is sold as a store brand, but there are more expensive litters on the market. I'd say it is average in price.

To conclude, both of the litters have something to offer, it depends on how many cats you have in your home, and what you are looking for. Both of the Scoop Away products leave enough litter on my floor that I have gone back to trying a more natural litter called Feline Pine.
