Great Life Essentials canned - Itchmo Forums
My vote goes to Great Life Essentials which I’m giving to my cats for a while now. It’s fairly cheap (not sure where are you from, but check out for prices before buying, you can see price ranges online), grain-free and is made from meat from US farms. One more benefit is that this canned food is GMO-free and without carrageenan.
On the CRF website it states that the best food is one your cat will eat!!
I have known 20 yr old cats who grew up on friskies and clay cat litter and
5 yr olds raised on Primal and Bravo and peed on The Worlds best
and left us young. Much has to do with Vital Force-constitution and genetics.
our rescue cats dont come with histories and genetic profiles. My take on the
“Best Foods” is that it is a wonderful road-map guidance tool. Use only the best
wet or raw-do not feed dry or “kibble and no vaccinations-steroids or anti-biotics
unless cleared by a holistic-alternative nutritionally savvy vet. put the obessions
into play-and love . thank you Liz. one of the foods I had mentioned last yr is now
on your revised list Great Life Essentials and I am hoping all true cat lovers thank
you for the work and love you have given. I am hopeful that we can keep our human
projections real and love more.
I'm going through this list looking for new cat foods. I'm only about halfway done, but I wanted to let you know that all of the Newman's own I looked at on their website had carrageenan, and Great Life Essentials says they don't make canned food anymore. HeadButt Great Life Performance Pet Products™ is always seeking better ways to improve your animals health so we introduced Great Life Essential Canned foods for dogs and cats. These foods entwine Free Range Protein, Organic Sun-Ripened fruits and vegetables, in an exciting palate delighting mix surrounded by scrumptious broth. Lola:

Thank YOU! I updated the list. It sure is getting shorter and shorter. :( I tried Great Life Essentials for our two kitties. It’s relatively less expensive than other premium brands, but they were not all that thrilled with the two varieties I tried. On the other hand, I have no major issues with the food being co-packed by Evangers. No matter what the FDA may say, the fact that the FDA said anything on this kind of issue is a huge step above almost ANY food made in China or Asia. Honestly, if there is a concern that someone may not trust Evangers due to a 3 year old complaint (since corrected), then I think there are likely a ton of people who don’t trust co-packing done in the far east, where there is even less oversight and fewer regulations on content, quality, cleanliness, labor conditions and environmental standards. I would pick Great Life Essentials any day over top-rated Tiki Cat, Soulistic, Weruva and some others if the facility is a factor in the rating. In regard to trust, the same could be said about products made in Simmons/Menu facilities, like Nature’s Variety cans that probably deserve a similar notation for trust issues. Now if Evangers gets a fine or recall for such an issue, then it might be justified. Just my 2 cents.
