We have dogs, cats, puppies, and other mammals available for adoption
and saves lives. or and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
Did you know that over 1,000 people per hour run a search right here looking to adopt a pet? Pet adoption is quickly becoming the preferred way to find a new dog, puppy, cat or kitten. Best of all, there are so many benefits when you adopt a dog or adopt a cat over buying. For instance, pet adoption will almost always be more affordable than buying a puppy for sale from a breeder or finding a kitten for sale from a litter. There are more benefits as well. Since pets in rescues and shelters usually come from a home where the owners ran out of money, got divorced, or had to move, it's common to find that the dogs and cats on our website are already housetrained, good with kids, or do well with other pets. People are finding out that buying a puppy for sale from a breeder isn't all it's cracked up to be and the stress of training a puppy is too much these days. Best of all, rescues care for their animals, and the dogs and cats don't leave the organization without having their shots and being taken to the vet. That means less stress, and more savings! So what are you waiting for? Go find that perfect pet!
Our adoption process requires a completed adoption application, vet check and home visit prior to adoption. If you do adopt from Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue you will also need to sign an Adoption Contract. All our animals receive age appropriate vaccines and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Animals not spayed or neutered prior to adoption; e.g., puppies, have a Spay/Neuter Agreement attachment to the Adoption Contract. There is a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit for dogs [$25 refundable spay/neuter deposit for cats] with proof of spay/neuter.
We do not adopt on a first-come first-served basis, but rather seek to place our rescue animals in the best possible adoptive family that can meet their needs.
HDDCR reserves the right to deny adoption to an applicant if we believe the placement is not in the best interest of the rescue animal. We currently have more than 300 cats (we also have dogs and puppies that we have rescued) available for adoption. Good forever homes are urgently needed so that we can continue rescuing friendly, stray cats who otherwise may not survive on the streets or on "death row" at shelters.
