I think my cat has an extra testicle. He was neutered over two years ago, at which time we were told he had a crypt-orchid (a testicle that never descended out of his abdomen) and it would be $500 dollars to go in and dig the testicle out. However, after the surgery the vet came out and said "Looks like that testicle descended on its own" and we only hadto pay for a regular neuter.

Fast forward a couple of years and he's started humping people's legs. He also has been spray marking the front door and howling in the middle of the night. We have stray cats in our neighborhood, many of whom are probably in heat and are prowling around our yard. My cat is an indoor cat, but he's reacting very much like an unneutured cat.

So, my theory is that he was born with three testicles, two hangers and one undescended. The vet who did his neutering missed the crypt-orchid and it just descended recently and made him start acting all sexually crazed. My plan is to call the vet and tell them that I think they missed a testicle, but I would like to know if I am going to be laughed at. Is it possible for a cat to have three testicles, one of which doesn't descend until years after the first two? It sounds pretty incredible and a bit kooky to think your cat has an extra testicle.

I have thought of feeling to see if there is one there, but the cat, not surprisingly, does not like to have the fleshy patch where his balls may or may not be handled.

Oh, and should I demand the vet do the new neutering for free, if he in fact does have another testicle? I mean, they're the ones who missed it the first time . . .

Any help appreciated!
While other cats love to play with tissue paper, Boomer likes to play with a ball pit! He keeps jumping into his pool full of colorful balls to create a big splash and even hides in it so no one can find him :). We've made Cat Balls for Christmas! Over the years we've seen some adorable customer photos that show their new Cat Ball placed under the Christmas tree, with a kitty peacefully "loafing" inside. It looks so cute that this year we... Jennifer started The Cat Ball without any preplanning or investment — not the recommended way to start a business, but sometimes you just have to jump right in! The only resources she had were sewing machines, fabric, and her skills in design and patternmaking. Jennifer had already sold accessories online through Etsy, a marketplace for selling handmade goods, so she listed the first Cat Balls for sale there. My first project was also yarn testing, toy balls for my cats. I added their favorite herb, Valeriana root and a bell to make it more fun. Finally I had the chance to get rid of the old balls which really were looking like they had been collected from the garbage can. The change was quite easy for my cats due to the smell which is very seductive for them.No two ways about it: Hairballs in are unpleasant.
