Did you know that most cats in shelters and rescues are healthy and well-behaved, and are in the shelter through no fault of their own? Animal shelters and rescue groups are full of lovable, active and healthy adoptable cats and kittens just waiting for someone to take them home. Many people go to a pet store or a Chartreux cat breeder looking to purchase a cat or kitten, but don't realize that they might find a Chartreux or similar looking cat right in their local shelter. Many cats are given up when their prior owner can no longer afford the financial requirements to keep them. Other times cats are given up to shelters due to a divorce, death in the family, or new housing situation. Most cats and kittens in shelters are simply in need of a new home – they just want a safe, loving, and happy place to live!
Located in Houston, Save a Purrfect Cat Rescue (SAPCR) is a 501(c)(3) foster-based ONLY, no-kill, animal welfare group created to find permanent homes for homeless cats. SACR's cats include strays and abandoned/abused cats from other shelters that would have otherwise been euthanized. All of our cats are fostered in a cage-free environment. We provide medical care in the form of vaccinations, testing, and spay/neuter services prior to adopting our animals into responsible loving, forever homes. All animals in our program are fostered by individuals who care for them in their homes until they are adopted. *Cat adoptions held on weekends at the Adoption Center or by appointment during the week.Adopt A Cat became a 501(c)(3)in September 1994. We also provide intensive neo-natal and adult pet fostering programs, along with hands-on volunteer training classes and continuous workshops.
